With Oskar still out of school and having completed every single activity book in the house, we decided to conduct the easiest science experiment....
Understanding the difference between water and oil density.
Filled half a glass jar with blue dyed water, using good colouring, and then added vegetable oil.
Fascinating how the oil goes all the way down and then comes up. The bubbles created where the highlight as well as looking closely with a torch how water and oil separates after shaking the jar. Another discovery were the "northern lights" as Oskar called them. When pointing the flash light close to the jar the light pouring out was amazing and ever changing due to the oil and blue water. Beautiful!!!
