NYC trip and marathon

Felix was meant to run the NYC marathon with his chosen charity called "pro niño" organised by the company he works for Telefonica. The moment we were checking into the hotel we saw a news flash on TV that the marathon was cancelled! Felix was very disappointed to say the least. Thankfully his charity organised a half marathon on Sunday in Central Park which made everyone happy. His space is reserved for next year. If all goes well we might also take the kids to cheer daddy on! :)

New York was empty and two streets before us - we were on 45th street and Madison Avenue - there was no power therefore plunged in darkness. It was quite surreal, the subway wasn't working and people were queuing for 6 hours to catch a bus home. I overheard a hotel staff say he left his home at 3am to be at work for 8am!

We ended up having a great time of course although it was too short! Only 3 days :(

Now we pray all the people affected by hurricane Sandy to soon get their homes back and slowly resume life as it was. Very sad to see such devastation caused.
